Jess & Elaine

Sometimes you just don’t have words for how a wedding can make you feel, and this was absolutely one of those weddings. If we had to try and describe it, we would say it was a mix of overwhelming love, happiness, and pride for the happy couple – but it still doesn’t come close to the real thing. By concentrating on their relationships with their close friends and family, Jess & Elaine created an incredibly intimate celebration of their love.

After arriving from their offsite photoshoot, Jess & Elaine chose to have their ceremony in our lakeside field – complete with an amazing pampas grass installation from Petals by Elise. Musician, Dave Heath, serenaded their guests as they arrived, adding to the relaxed atmosphere Jess & Elaine had aimed for. With their close friend officiating their ceremony, and close friends and family offering their own readings, there was hardly a dry eye to be seen.

After booking their wedding, Jaimi and Josh discovered that they were expecting their first little one. Their cause for celebration had just doubled. Not only would they get married but soon after they would bring their first kid into the world. Jaimi and Josh were thrilled with the news and we knew this would be a night to remember.

Bringing a modern and chic flair to our rustic venue, the couples styling was minimal but perfectly executed. Every decision was well thought out and perfectly suited to the couple. Jaimi and her bridesmaids arrived in a teal blue kombi armed with stunning blooms from Botanic Weddings & Events. With a wedding party of 12 (plus the bride and groom!), Jaimi and Josh made sure to surround themselves with all their close friends. This resulted in a lot of fun, laughter, and some great bridal party photos! The importance of the right bridal party cannot be understated – and Jaimi and Josh nailed it!

Ebony & Sean: this is a couple that know how to throw a party!

In the hands of expert stylists, Ruby & James, the bride and groom transformed Baxter Barn into the chic, rustic venue Ebony had dreamed of. Complete with Persian rugs, green foliage and neon signage, they really made the space their own.

Once the formalities were done and dusted, their guests hit the bar. Aperol Spritz (made to order), Pimm’s cocktail cannisters and cold beers wrapped in their personalized stubby holder were just some of the options Ebony & Sean’s guests had to choose from. As Sean’s family were Irish, they couldn’t help but to indulge in a bit of Guinness from the keg in the caravan bar.

After sneaking off to fit in a couple of shots with photographer, Sofia, from Enchanted Weddings, the couple returned to the party via their own custom WWE introduction, packed full of hilarious quips. After their one of a kind introduction, the live band, Baker Boys, had a hard act to follow but managed, in no time, to get the crowd going in full swing.

ALEX & CAL

Their love story began at the tender age of 16 and 17, with every moment full of laughter and love since. They have built their lives around caring for others: Alex is a paramedic and Cal is a firefighter, so when it came to their wedding day, everyone wanted to give back.

They wanted their wedding to be a fun and relaxed day – filled with family, friends & food. So, their ceremony was conducted by a family friend, in front of the Sage’s Cottage - and it was absolutely brimming with long-awaited emotion.

Styled by Woops a Daisy, this was a Pinterest-worthy boho wedding, with Alex wearing a stunning lace dress thanks to Spell Bride – complete with floral headpiece and macramé floral wrap. Lawn games were scattered across the lawn at the barn, and the iconic Woops a Daisy red velvet lounge setting took centre stage for guests to relax.

The festivities began with a massive grazing table, filled with antipasto, cheese, fruit, cured meats, bread and dips, followed by their cocktail-style reception. The highlight was the interactive food station, where the Going Gourmet chef came out to cook the barbeque in front of the guests. Food aromas filled the air, complete with fire tricks and all.

Their reception was a big party, with Angus Legg entertaining the guests with his amazing voice. They ended their wedding with a bang, Alex donning a “wifey” leather jacket for their sparkler send off.

Becca and Evan were an extremely fun couple! Their personalities were all throughout their wedding, starting off with the ceremony. Their celebrant, Carla Bergen, asked that all guests to take a quick photo before putting their phones away for an unplugged ceremony “there’s only one phone left” Carla said with a glint in her eye looking at Becca. Becca proceeded to pull out her phone from a pocket in her wedding dress, (which she had been boasting about to Carla in the lead up to the wedding) with hesitation, “oh alright, one quick selfie” replied Carla. So in fun nature, Becca, Evan and their bridal party, just like the famous Ellen DeGeneres Oscar Selfie, and got a pre ceremony photo – pictured below.

Tegen and Drew got married in November 2016 and chose to hold their ceremony within one of the fields on the property. With the help of Woops a Daisy and the Baxter Barn venue staff, they transformed the field into a rustic boho wonderland. A wooden archway framed the couple, as they got married.

Following the ceremony, their guests mingled around and had a celebratory drink, while the couple and their bridal party roamed the property in search of perfect photos, and thanks to Rebecca from The Urban Sparrow Photography, they got some stunning ones – even our goat Archie played the perfect part.

Once the photos were all done, the MC announced the couple for the first time as Husband and Wife and the party officially began. Drinks flowed, food was consumed and party shoes were put on. Tegen and Drew had a magical evening at the barn, celebrating their love, with everyone they loved the most.

It’s a rare occasion that we’re left speechless at Baxter Barn, but the captivating wedding between Louise and Belinda did just that! With Louise from Scotland and Belinda from Australia, they began their journey by flying over to Scotland to do their legal ceremony in front of Louise’s family, before flying back and having a big wedding with their friends and family here in Australia.

Cathy and Warren had an epic 170 guests at their wedding on 11th March 2017. The couple began the day at the barn with a first look and no dry eyes were in sight when Warren saw Cathy for the first time. Then, with their bridal party in tow, they roamed the property for photos. Cathy and Warren wanted to enjoy every minute of their wedding with their family and friends, so decided to do the photos before the ceremony.

The wedding of Teegan and Mahatia was just beautiful. The same sex couple held their wedding at Baxter Barn on 2nd December 2016 and showed that if you’re in love, that’s all that matters.

Their wedding was the perfect balance of rustic and boho, turning the grounds into a flower wonderland (even more so then what it already is!) and pairing it perfectly with dresses from Grace loves Lace. They held their love filled ceremony in our gardens with an Aboriginal smoking ceremony to cleanse, ward off any bad spirits, acknowledge ancestors and pay respect to the land and sea of country.  The girls bought a tear to everyone’s eye as they declared their love for each other.
